How to keep your Immune system strong!

How to keep your Immune system strong!

As we are heading into the winter, we are also heading into the season of sicknesses. I wanted to give you 5 things you can do to hopefully avoid getting sick but if you do get sick doing these things will help it pass quicker.

  1. Make sure you are getting enough sleep. I know we are getting into a very busy time of year, but sleep is an essential part of staying healthy. Your body needs that time to recover every night. That is when our bodies repair themselves, so please aim for 7-9 hours of sleep every night.
  2. Stay hydrated, drink water then drink more water. This will help your body flush out toxins, viruses, and bacteria from your system. Not to mention help you have more energy.
  3. Start taking an Elderberry supplement. This is a great natural supplement that is packed with vitamins and antioxidants. I prefer the syrup, but I give my kids the gummies. Now here is the think make sure it’s a quality Elderberry supplement not one that has barely Elderberry in it and is full of fillers and toxins. Here is one that is awesome. The Elderberry Company
  4. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and whole food. When we eat processed foods, it inflames our bodies and think of inflammation as our kryptonite, when our bodies are inflamed they are weaken and it takes up the energy in your body that your body needs to fight of sickness. Do your best eat non processed foods and keep inflammation down.
  5. Take a zinc supplement during winter months. Zinc helps keep your immune system strong, just like I said with the Elderberry supplement, make sure you get a good quality zine. This is the one my provider recommends. Again, I like the liquid version of it but they do have pills as well.
  6. Just an added reminder – Wash your hands, this is always an easy way to protect your immune system!

It’s important to do everything you can to help your body help you! Remember it’s the only body you have!
