Do you need a life coach, a therapist, or both?

Do you need a life coach, a therapist, or both?

After nearly two decades of helping people grow personally and professionally, I decided it was time to make it official and become a life coach. I completed my training at Southwest Institute for Healing Arts. I chose their particular program because Holistic Life Coaching is what I wanted to really focus on and believe that focusing on the whole person is what will give the best outcomes and experiences for my clients. I love every minute of coaching and helping my clients find balance, overall wellness, and achieve their goals.

I am sure you have so many questions about Life Coaching, so I thought I would provide some details:

What is a life coach? As a holistic life coach, I focus on the whole person, this means, the approach I take is focused on the mind, body, and spiritual wellbeing. The goal is to bring balance and harmony to your life through the encouragement of self-reflection and awareness. Also, to help you build positive and lasting lifestyle changes. Life coaching helps you accomplish your future goals and develop habits to live your best life.

The Differences Between Life Coaching and Therapy

The vital difference between therapy and life coaching is that therapy is centered on the past. It endeavors to analyze any traumas, pains, and challenges you have faced. Then, through personal training and evidence-based strategies, it builds solutions for those struggles. Life coaching focuses on the present and the future, laying the path forward and what you need to do to fulfill your purpose and goals.

Therapy discusses the past and how it is presented in your present, life coaching focuses on the present to create the future you desire.

In therapy you focus on mental health and emotional healing, in life coaching we focus on setting and achieving goals.

Therapy is about healing, while life coaching is about achievement.

Therapy is focused on understanding, while coaching is about action.

Therapy is about treatment, while coaching is about transformation.

Therapy is about happiness, while coaching is about deep joy from within which touches the soul.

Having a therapist does not mean you shouldn’t have a life coach or vice versa, it is very beneficial to work on both, that just means you are working on both the past and the future. And WOW, wouldn’t that be amazing to heal your past and create a beautiful future.
