6 Healthy snacks on the go that you might not have heard of before!

Now that summer is here and we have day trips, and weekend trips, and other gatherings, it feels like we are always running out the door. We are not a fast-food family, but we are a snack family, so it is important to me that I have healthy snack options for the boys and myself. If you have kids in activities, you know dinner during the week is usually at like 4:45pm and again at 9:00pm, I wish I was kidding! Then on the weekends it’s hours at the soccer field or baseball field so I have to pack snacks because I am not sacrificing my health and eating concession stand food, that doesn’t fit my goals.  I have found some great snack options that, believe it or not, my kids love too.

Aloha bars- I think we have tried every single flavor and we all have different favorites, but the family favorites are mint chocolate and peanut butter cup. These bars have around 14g of protein and 10g of fiber. Also, these bars are organic plant based so yes, they are vegan. And they are gluten free as well. Peanut butter cup is my favorite, but my kids love the mint chocolate ones. https://amzn.to/3IoNBks

The Perfect Bar- These bars actually have to be refrigerated because of the natural ingredients but we love the snack size ones. I found them at Sams Club (in the refrigerated section) but Amazon has them too. The snack size bar has 6g of Protein and it’s only 130 calories. The larger bars have about 15g of protein and are around 330 calories. https://amzn.to/3Z34Tum

That’s It Bars- These bars truly only have fruit in them, so if you kids like fruit snacks or fruit rollups this is the healthy version. For example, the apple strawberry bars the only ingredients are apples and strawberries. It’s a great way to get you and your kids to eat fruit on the go. https://amzn.to/41tp6LO

Overnight Oat Bar – These bars are great on the go. Yes, they can be a breakfast bar if you eat breakfast but I love to put them in my pocketbook and when I need a snack, I have a healthy option. The apple cinnamon is my favorite. They are 130 calories and have 10g of protein and they are gluten free. I ordered them off Amazon. https://amzn.to/41tpkCE

100 calorie nut packs- I love almonds, walnuts, . I ordered them off Amazon. https://amzn.to/41tpkCEcashews, pecans but I have a problem with portion control, nuts are good for you but if you are not careful you can eat 500-700 calories in nuts in one sitting. Look for the 100 calorie packs, I usually eat two packs but that still limits the amount I eat. These are great snacks for your kids as well. Everyone needs healthy fats plus they are filling. https://www.emeraldnuts.com/products/

Empowered Cookies- These are my new favorite “sweet treats”, I have tried three different kinds, the walnut chocolate chip, the double chocolate chip, and the cherry chocolate chip, they are all delicious. They are gluten-free, vegan, paleo friendly, and they have 7g of protein and 5g of fiber. https://amzn.to/3MZcbfe

If you are looking for healthier options, I hope you will give these a try!
